Laptop and notebooks your time is up. These little computers seem to be everywhere the last few years but the laptop and notebooks are becoming relics, thanks to the array of new tablets about to hit the market. Many people thought that these were just glorified larger smart phones like the iPhone 4 but no one can question the phenomenal success the iPad has had. So far Apple have pretty much had the tablet market to their selves but the competition is about to get pretty stiff, with the likes of Samsung entering the race with the Galaxy it has a built-in phone and its also cheaper so its hot on the iPads heels. But this is just the first of many who are being built to take on the iPad. Now Apple is known for changing the way we use smart phones with the world-renowned iPhone and I'm sure they'll keep setting the trends in the personal gadget market but let's take a look at some of these so-called iPad killers.
1. Samsung galaxy tab
it's the first competitor to be launched and is testing the water for the rest. The main difference the Galaxy has over the iPad is it has a built in phone also has a camera which both the iPad lacks. It runs on the Google android system which the rival operating system to the Apple OS and Microsoft Windows. With over 200 exclusive apps for the galaxy tab this should size up well.
2. HP Slate
this is the device that poses really the biggest threat to the iPad, the HP Slate is smaller than the I've had but bigger than the Galaxy and has a three megapixel camera it runs on Windows 7 which all the PC fans are going to love.
3. JooJoo
This device will support Adobe Flash player which you need to watch most videos online which the iPad doesn't. It is reported it will have a 4GB of storage compared to the iPads 32GB or 64GB.
4. Binatone Homesurf
this device is the cheapest but you still get a fair amount the money, with a built-in microphone and WiFi it has a 7 inch display and a 2GB of storage which is not a great deal if you want to store your music or videos but should be sufficient for surfing the net.
5. Archos Android
like the JooJoo this supports Adobe Flash player but has built-in WiFi and video calling through its web cam am willing to 3G phone and run through that. This device runs on the Google android system and comes with apps specially designed for it.
6. Blackberry tablet
it has been reported that Blackberry are working on their own tablet computer. Now this will be a real heavyweight in the tablet market as they are one of the only companies to hold their own against the iPhones reign of the smart phone world. It is reported it will have a 7 inch screen and also a 16 megapixel camera.
