Samsung Tab - Price Isn't Everything Or How To Really Compete In The Tablet PC Market

When they came out with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, I thought it was the perfect tablet PC all around, even priced right. Now, I see they recently came out with the Samsung Tab 10.1, matching the size of the iPad. And I'm wondering - Why?

Then one night, I'm sitting there watching TV with my kids. We don't have tiVo, so we have to endure the commercials. And a commercial for a frig comes on. Who would be interested in a refrigerator commercial, right? But this one is kind of cool.

It's got cool music. And the frig has some interesting features - cool apps. That's right, it's a Samsung frig with apps!

Talk about embrace and extend!

Take new technology - or existing technology, fully utilize it completely. And when you think you've exhausted the use of it in your niche, expand the application into other niches. What a concept!

That's when it hit me; Samsung is pretty smart.

So maybe their marketing strategy all along was to launch into the competition with Apple in the tablet PC world by entering with their ace - the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7, then immediately follow with their wild card (what everyone else started with), the Samsung Tab 10.1.

Pretty smart strategy, if you ask me.

First Samsung comes out with it's own version of a tablet PC. But it's actually more like a tablet computer because it can play flash video. Then they do something else that separates it from the iPad; they make it smaller.

How much smaller? Small enough to fit into your pocket.

That makes a lot of sense. If you just wanted a bigger iPhone, why not just get a real computer? A notebook or a tablet computer. If you just wanted a smaller computer, why not just get a smart phone? These days, the average smart phone is pretty much like a little computer.

So when Apple blew up the iPhone into the size of a tablet PC with the iPad, all it really did was add apps to the tablet PC market. It really didn't do anything to change the real mobility of the tablet PC. The iPad isn't that much smaller or lighter than a good tablet computer.

That's why Samsung was so smart when they did what they did. They brought a whole new dimension to the mobile computing world - literally, by making the Samsung Galaxy Tab exactly the right size for good visibility and better mobility.

Think about it; there's only so much you can do to compete in a market where so many good, smart companies have access to the same technology. True, everyone's going to try to make their equipment faster, sharper, more memory, longer battery life, etc.

And the apps? Sure Apple's got their Apps store, but everyone else has the Android Marketplace. And other's are bringing in their own entries into the apps market.

So Samsung comes out and does something so simple and smart; give people more choices. Specifically, people like me who already have a notebook/tablet PC, and an iPhone, but don't want to spend $500 plus so I can have apps with my tablet. However, to make it smaller and more mobile, but not the size of my phone - I'm sold!

That's why the Galaxy Tab is the perfect tablet PC. And it's cheaper than the iPad. So why follow the perfect tablet PC with another version of the iPad?

It goes back to what I was saying at the beginning, embrace and extend. This seems to be something Samsung is very good at doing. Them putting apps into kitchen appliances is extending. Them coming out with their own version of the iPad, but better, is fully embracing.

How is the Samsung Tab 10.1 better than the iPad? It's thinner, lighter, and it can do more. Samsung is truly fully utilizing technology to improve their product.

And as long as Samsung keeps giving people more options and more of what we want, they'll keep getting our business. With the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Tab 10.1, Samsung has shown how to take the lead in the tablet PC market. I'm excited to see what they'll come up with next!

iPad Free Testing - You Can Really Test and Keep the Apple iPad

It's time for all you computer geeks and gadget lovers to get your hands on the new iPad from the Apple Corporation. iPad free testing is no longer a big secret, but finding out how to get in on this deal still is. Keep reading this article and I'll explain how you can get your own revolutionary iPad to test and keep free!

The new iPad Tablet-style computer is an amazing device to get your hands on, but to be able to get one free is the benefit of getting involved with iPad free testing. I mean think about it, by applying and fulfilling a few requirements, you can have the iPad shipped to your front door and own it free just by testing it out and letting Apple know what you think of their new product. How awesome is that? All it normally takes is just a few quick steps. I know I have your attention, keep reading if you want to learn how to try one out and then keep it after you've tried it. Let me explain how this works:

Companies can afford to give products away free.

These offers are completely legitimate. Third party sponsors cover the cost of these free gifts and they make money from the Apple Corporation for generating new customers. We benefit because we get free products to test and keep. It's actually cheaper for corporations to advertise this way. The amount of money spent on TV and magazine ads are no longer cost effective; but online freebies are. Remember all those freebie offers for iPods and iPhones? Well these offers work the same way. Companies have been using this successful advertising method for the past few years now.

The dangers regarding iPad free testing

The new Apple iPad will revolutionize the way we work with and use computers in the near future. Once you try this new style computer, there is a danger of you wanting to get rid of your old computer immediately! The Apple Corporation wants you to have their new product to see how amazing their product really is. I also want to warn you about a few bogus offers online as well. If you are asked for any information regarding your bank accounts or passwords then move on. There are real offers available for iPad free testing and the link below will take you to the best one I found.

How you can get a free iPad in 3 easy steps
Step 1. CLICK HERE and enter your zip code to see if you're area is participating. (Some areas require your e-mail address).

Tablet PC Android OS: Is It Really Free?

Tablet PCs running on Android OS are garnering a major segment of the Tablet market. Despite great releases by competing OS, every brand of Tablets running on the open source Android OS are making the most sales. This implication for you as a tech-device seller is that Android OS market is where you need to move your business to.

Android Phone vs android tablet PC

Within the segment of Android OS-based devices, you have several niches and two main contenders here are Android Phones and Android Tablets. Again, if you have been following market trends, discussion forums or tech leaders you as a communication devices seller would now be able to identify that there is soon going to be a cleavage between the over-sized Smart Phone and the multi-tasking Android Tablet PC.

Android Tablets have already taken off to a rocketing start given their inherent characteristics of Open Source software, use of multiple-vendor-hardware and fundamental features of a good performing device-connectivity, security, battery-life and affordable pricing.

First advantage with Android OS Tablets-its free

The advantage with software that is developed in Open Source format is that it is free and everyone can use it. Linux, Ubuntu, Fedora are the various names of software in which such Free Open Source Software can be developed. Secondly, anybody can use it, make changes to it and share it again with the user community. In the case of Android OS (the source code or software to run tablet, phone or any other device) the free source code though developed by Google is free to use by anybody. This is not the case with iOS or the Operating System used Apple to develop its suite of devices like the iPhone, iPad or the iPod. The iOS is a proprietary software which is secretly guarded by Apple and not free for anybody else to use.

The Android OS though belonging to Google is free for every other manufacturer etc., to use in their own products, make changes to it etc. The result is manufacturers do not pay for the OS but still have cutting-edge, superior OS to put on the China Tablets they manufacture. This is one of main reasons for the low prices of China tablets.

Second Advantage with Android OS Tablets- Affordable h/w, s/w and enriched features

Android OS can be built to be compatible with hardware components available in the market. Therefore, Chinese manufacturers are able to build their Android tablets around inexpensive hardware. Here again some of the makers use branded hardware, in which case, these become the high-value tablets but, yet, less expensive than the branded tablets.

Besides, the Android OS is fully enabled for the entire Google suite such as Gmail, Skype, Google Maps etc., thereby every tablet made using this OS will come pre-installed with the Google family. Advantage China tablets.

Third Advantage with selling Android OS Tablets-its legal

Therefore, it is not-illegal to buy and sell Android OS made Tablets as the inherent licensing of the software allows this. This is not the case with iOS and selling or buying outside of Apple stores could sometimes be a high-risk investment.

Android Tablets sourced from Chinese Suppliers gain as follows

Sellers can offer their discerning buyers two value systems of Tablets, one inexpensive average performing devices and the second variety, which are high value and display a performance that sometimes surpasses the branded Tablets such as Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy in the price department as well.
